You can plot the earnings from any sector, from any index. If you choose a second index, the chart becomes a comparison. So, if you want to make a comparison, you must fill out all of the *'d fields, however as a set they are optional.

...they come in multiples of 4, you know, 4 per year :) But analysis can't go past 2010. So, you can't pick 2009 above, and choose 12 quarters. You'll get an error. Try 2008 above and choose 8 below. Then try again with 12. You'll get the idea.
